Question:
Hello Charlie, is there a code or standard for minimum wire bend radius for OEM equipment wiring, under 1000V (low voltage residential and industrial equipment)? The target wire range is for 100-200 A ( #1 AWG Copper or #3 AWG Aluminum through 3/0 Copper or Aluminum)? I understand wire-bend space, which is space dedicated to field wiring, but it seems for factory wiring, there sure should be SOME limitations on minimum radius as well. Thanks, Will Letourneau

Answer:
Hello Will, NFPA 79,
Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery provides guidance for electrical/electronic equipment, apparatus, or systems of industrial machines. Specifically, Chapter 13 of NFPA 79 covers wiring practices including bends and bending radius.
