Question:

Hello Charlie. Can paralleled sets of MC Cable be used for a feeder? If so, how does the equipment grounding conductor sizing work for an MC Cable where the equipment grounding conductor is sized and built in from the factory? Thanks in advance Dale Becker.

Answer:

Hello Dale, yes Type MC Cable can be used in parallel sets for a feeder. Section 250.122(F)(2) provides guidance on this, requiring the equipment grounding conductor installed in each of the paralleled MC Cables to be sized in accordance with Table 250.122, based on the overcurrent protection device protecting the MC Cable parallel feeder.
