Question:
Is it permissible to supply power to a ground fault protection system upstream of the main disconnect? I have been told it is not allowed by code, per 230.82(8)
Brian ONeill
A
Answer:
Hey Brian thanks for your question. Actually ground-fault protection systems are allowed to be installed on the supply side of service disconnecting means as state in 230.82(8). They must be installed as part of listed equipment with suitable disconnecting means and overcurrent protection.
