Question:
I am also one of the daily readers in this forum. Pertaining to the question on June 8, 2022, a wireway can be called "equipment" as mentioned in 110.26(A)? Another question is whether all articles under chapter 4 are all equipment such as flexible cables, switches, and receptacles, etc. Your answer will be surely valuable.
Thanks in advance,
Jessie Santos

Answer:
Hi Jessie,
Glad to hear you enjoy reading the CQD. The definition of "Equipment" can be found in Article 100 of the NEC. While the NEC definition of Equipment can be quite broad, the working space requirements found in Section 110.26(A) of the 2014 NEC, apply to equipment operating at 600V nominal, or less to ground, and equipment that is likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized. Based on those criteria, the AHJ would make a determination on whether or not the working space applies.
