Is a danger sign supposed to use the colors white, black and red? What NEC rules cover this. There is an example of a sign required in Section 300.45.

Thanks for participating. While there is no direct text in the NEC about the exact colors, there are references to producing field-applied hazard signs and warning labels. Section 110.21(B) provides more detail and actually references ANSI Z535.4-2011 from an informational note. This is the standard where the details can be found. Details such as font size, colors, words, symbols, and location requirements are provided.
