Where in the NEC will I find that we should allow for circuit expansion or additional new loads?

Answer:

Hello Robert,

Thanks for the question. The NEC is not a design specification or instruction manual for untrained persons, as indicated in Section 90.1(A). Section 90.8 addresses wiring planning for future expansion and convenience, but it is not a requirement. This section indicates that Plans and

specifications that provide ample space in raceways, spare raceways, and additional spaces allow for future increases in electric power and communications circuits. Distribution centers located in readily accessible locations provide convenience and safety of operation. Hope this is helpful.
