Hello Code Question of the Day,
For a motor circuit, can both branch-circuit, short-circuit and ground fault protection and required overload protection be provided through a single fuse or circuit breaker?

Hi Carl,
Yes. A single protective device (fuse or circuit breaker) is permitted to provide both forms of protection (BC-SC-GF and OL protection) if the device provides the overload protection specified in Section 430.32. See Section 430.55.
