Question:
Dear Madam / Sir, Inside a concrete pole, do I need to use a junction box? If yes, please tell me the rule.
Thanks, York
A
Answer:
Hey York thanks for your question. No. Metal and nonmetallic poles can be used as raceways for supply conductors to luminaires that are supported by them, under the conditions given, as stated in 410.30(B). A 2 inch X 4 inch handhole must be provided in the pole or base for access to the supply terminations.
