Question:
New home, all plastic pipe (pecks) house has a well. We have a footing ground. Do I need grounding electrode conductor or ground rods?
Bob Mellon
A
Answer:
Hey Bob thanks for your question. All grounding electrodes described in 250.52(A)(1) through (A)(7) - that are present must be bonded together as stated in 250.50. If your "footing ground" meets the conditions of 250.52(A)(3) it must be used but no additional grounding electrodes are required to be installed, because they are not "present". A grounding electrode conductor for the service is required as stated in 250.24(A).
