Question:

I have a 1200 amp vertical busway running thru the E room with a 400 amp bus plug. Does the entry door to this E room require panic hardware and required to swing out to meet NEC 126(C) (3)?

Answer:

Hey Bill thanks for your question. Yes, equipment rated 800 amperes and higher that has overcurrent devices, switching devices, or control devices and if there is a door intended for personnel within 25 feet of the workspace the door must open in the direction of egress and have listed panic hardware as stated in 110.26(C)(3).
