Hello and thanks for this service. If installing a control system in a hazardous (classified) location (Class I, Division 1), and it is supplied by a listed intrinsically safe system, does the wiring need to be explosion-proof?

Hi Alex,
Appreciate the comments. Based on the information in your question, intrinsically safe systems can be installed in a Class I, Division 1 location using any of the general wiring methods including those in Chapters 7 and 8. See Section 504.20
