RE: Code Question of the Day 12/10/19

Can I apply higher voltage 480 to a machine that has a equipment nameplate value of 208 voltage only?

Answer:

Hey Benny thanks for your question. No, unless you want to see the smoke come out! The equipment voltage rating must not be less than the nominal circuit voltage supplying it as stated in 110.4
