Question:
The question I have is the color coding on Nonmetallic cable type NM-B. I realize all manufactures are using the yellow color jacket for #12 gauge and orange for #10. Is this a required standard per UL? Can #12 white jacket still be used?
Thank You, Jim Bevo
A
Answer:
Hey Jim thanks for your question. Nonmetallic sheathed cable must have conductor insulation that is rated at 90 Degrees C as stated in 334.112. NM-B cable meets that requirement as explained in the Informational Note. There is no NEC color code for the jacket so if your white jacketed cable is NMB it can be used.
