Question:

Hello,

Where in the codebook does it state about a light switch being 50' and or visible to the main breaker? Also, wherein the codebook does it state that you cant run a feeder and load in the same conduit?

Answer:

Hi Ray, thanks for the questions. The answer to the first question is found in the NEC Article 100 definition of the term "In Sight" Insight From and Within Sight. That's where you find the clarification about being visible and not exceeding 50 feet in distance. The answer to the second question is that line and load conductors are generally not restricted from being installed in the same raceway. It would be a good idea to mark such an installation for additional safety for those working on it in the future.
