Question:
Hello,
Thanks for your work. What size copper equipment grounding conductor is required for a 2500-ampere feeder. The EGCs are installed in multiple PVC raceways in a parallel arrangement. The plans show a 1/0 AWG copper in each of the 6 raceways but it seems small.

Answer:
Hi Cathy,
Thanks for the question. The answer is very straight forward. Section 250.122(A) provides the general sizing information for equipment grounding conductors. Section 250.122(F) provides sizing information for equipment grounding conductors installed in parallel conductor arrangements. Table 250.122 indicates that the minimum size copper EGC for each raceway in the 2500-ampere protected feeder shall be not less than 350 kcmil copper. Hope this is helpful.
