Question:
Hello,
I'm new to this NEC blog and have a question. If a half-switched receptacle outlet is installed in a dwelling bedroom to satisfy the rule in 210.70, does that receptacle have to be identified as switched?
Thanks for your consideration.

Answer:
Hi Andy,
That's a very good question. The NEC currently does not require such identification of switched receptacles. This is perhaps an opportunity to submit a Code change proposal. The NEC does require that receptacles controlled by an energy management system be identified with a power symbol and the word "controlled" on the receptacle. See Section 406.3(E).
