Question:
Dear Code Question of the Day,
Does the Code address not cutting (ringing) the strands of larger conductors when stripping them for termination. This seems to happen a lot especially on aluminum conductors. Where in the NEC is this addressed?
Pat French
A
Answer:
Hi Pat,
Thank you for the question. This is a workmanship issue addressed generally by Section 110.12 in the Code. Section 110.14(A) also addresses terminations and that they be made without damage to the conductors.
