Question:
Code friends,
Regarding transformer secondary protection, can the required protection be provided by more than one device? Example: instead of ONE (1) Fused 200 Amp Disconnect can we use TWO (2) Fused 100 Amp Disconnects?
Thanks,
Joe Finn
A
Answer:
Joe, when transformer secondary protection
IS required per Table 450.3(B), Note 2 of the Table permits the use of up to six (6) circuit breakers, or six (6) sets of fuses grouped in one location. Where multiple devices are used the total of all of the device ratings shall not exceed the allowed value of a single overcurrent device.
