Question:
Hello,
I've been a subscriber for many years. Thank you for this service that you provide. We are installing equipment feeder conduits ”3" w/3- #250 & 1-#4 G sized for ambient temp) on a roof. The roofing contractor is providing supports. The type of support is where the conduit sets on a wheel without any physical ties to the supports. Is there anything in the NEC that prohibits this type of roof supporting means?

Answer:
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for participating and the question. Section 300.11 is titled Securing and Supporting. It reads (in part) (A) Secured in Place. Raceways, cable assemblies, boxes, cabinets, and fittings shall be securely fastened in place. No Exception. The .30 section of the raceway articles is also titled “Securing Support." Each must be achieved according to those rules. It appears that the support rule is met, but the raceways also should be secured.
