Question:
Good Day,
Are you allowed to run the same 20 amp, 120-volt circuit in more then one conduit in a commercial building?
Thank you,
Jeremiah Genslack
A
Answer:
Hello Jeremiah,
The question seems a bit unique, but we'll answer it at face value. Yes you are permitted to run the same branch circuit in more than one conduit. The installation must meet the requirements in Section 300.3(B) which indicates all conductors of the circuit and, where used, the grounded conductor and all equipment grounding conductors and bonding conductors shall be contained within the same raceway, auxiliary gutter, cable tray, cable bus assembly, trench, cable, or cord, unless otherwise permitted in accordance with 300.3(B)(1)through (B)(4). An example of installing this circuit in different raceways is two conduits heading in two different directions from a single junction box or enclosure, and supplying loads from a single branch circuit. Hope this is useful.
