Hello CQD,

How many generator location stickers are needed. one the the meter pan to show location, Is one needed at the main panel location?

Answer:

Hi Andrew, The NEC requires the generator locations to be marked at the service entrance which typically includes on the service disconnecting means enclosure. This marking is most useful at the service disconnecting means location to alert of the alternate source. Unless the meter enclosure in your question is part of a combination meter and service disconnecting means in the same enclosure, the NEC is silent on this location being marked on just a service meter enclosure. See Sections 700.7(A), 701.7(A) and 702.7(A). See the definition of service equipment in Article 100, and see section 230.66(B) that indicates meters are not part of the service equipment.
