Good Morning,

Can the high-leg service conductor in the service equipment be marked with other than an orange color?

Answer:

Hi Ron,

Thanks for participating. Yes, the high-leg can be marked with an outer finish that is orange or by other effective means. The term "other effective means" could refer to labels, tagging, or other method. See Section 230.56. The marking would ultimately have to be acceptable to the AHJ. Also you might do well to check with the local utility company as they may have additional or other requirements for addressing the required markings at services supplied by highleg systems.
