Question:
Thanks for the NEC information.
My question relates to a water pipe that is a grounding electrode. I have a water meter in the basement and the grounding electrode conductor is connected on the load (house) side of the water meter. Do I need a bonding jumper around the meter? Is there a Code for that? Thanks very much.

A
Answer:
Hello Kyle and thanks for the comments and question.
Yes a bonding jumper is required around the water meter. Check Sections 250.52(A)(1), 250.68(B) and 250.53(D)(1). The bonding jumper should be sized the same as the installed grounding electrode conductor.
