Question:
Greetings CQD,
I just bought a freezer for the garage and the instructions recommend a separate circuit. Does the receptacle in the garage need to be GFCI protected?
Thanks.

A
Answer:
Hi Larry,
Yes. Section 210.8(A)(2) requires GFCI protection for all 125-volt through 250-volt receptacles installed in garages and supplied by branch circuits rated 150-volts or less to ground. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
