Question:
Is their a written specification for the temporary power pole used in the early stages of construction of new projects?
Ron Lawson
A
Answer:
Hey Ron thanks for your question. If you mean a mast to support overhead service conductors or service drops then must be of adequate strength or be otherwise supported as stated in 230.28(A). This is reinforced for temporary installations also as stated in 590.4(A). Many utilities have specific minimum size and construction requirements for what their conductors are attached to so check with the one supplying power in your area. They are often on their website.
