Question:

Good morning, Code Friends, for an installation where a MC Cable is connected to a metal box with a proper listed, MC Cable connector and the equipment grounding conductor is terminated on the green screw of a self-grounding receptacle device, is a bond to the metal box required by Code? Thanks in advance, Bryant Cook

Answer:

Hi Bryant, thanks for the question. Section 250.148(B) would require the equipment grounding conductor to be connected to the metal box, as the connection to the box cannot be interrupted by the removal of a receptacle device.
