Question:
Hi CQD. If installing a panel on a wall inside of a room at what distance away from the panel must bollards be installed to protect the electrical equipment/electrical panel? Best, John Dellomo
A
Answer:
John, thank you for participating in the CQD. Section 110.27(B) provides some guidance on this, and while it does not provide specific distances and locations of the protection, it states it must be so arranged and of such strength to prevent damage of the equipment. This would mean that the bollards installed would need to be close enough together to make sure the carts could not pass between them, and strong enough to stop them. Additionally, the bollard arrangement cannot impede on the working clearance required by Section 110.26(A)-(C).
