Question:
Hi CQD, I have an outdoor tiki hut that has electricity run to it, installed per Code. I want to install an outdoor antenna. Do I have to ground the antenna since the electric service to the tiki hut is already grounded. The only cable running will be from the antenna to the TV. Thanks, Angelo Sammarco

Answer:
Hello Angelo and thank you for your question. In general Article 810 of the NEC® requires masts and metal structures supporting antennas to be grounded or bonded. Specifically, Section 810.15 and accompanying Informational Note, provides guidance on this, as well as 2020 Edition of NFPA 780, Standard for the Installation of Lighting Protection Systems.
