Question:
Hello CQD. The scenario is running plenum rated CAT 6 cable thru a building and making an exterior pentation and then running conduit along a building or soffit to a camera about 10-20ft. Does the cable need to be OSP? Can we run just use the plenum rated cable? Where in the code book is this info located i cannot find it? Thanks, Harry Bushling

Answer:
Hi Harry, thanks for the question. New Article 722 provides the requirements for installations of power-limited cables. Specifically, Section 722.179(A)(11) requires cable installed in wet locations to be listed for installation in wet locations. Additionally, there may be physical protection requirements that would apply found in Sections 722.24 and 725.24.
