New and Updated NECA Safety Products

NECA has released several new safety resources for electrical contractors to keep pace with NFPA-70E updates, lock-out/tag-out procedures, PPE and an all-new Supervisors Guide to Jobsite Safety. The Supervisors Guide to Job Site Safety includes a field guide and companion training CD will assist project supervisory staff in effectively implementing jobsite safety requirements. It provides a high-level review of NECA’s Standing Policy on Safety, planning, training and inspection requirements.

NECA Releases NEIS Yearbook, Vol. 7

Includes 3 New Standards!

The seventh volume of the National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS®) Yearbook CD collection has just been released by the National Electrical Contractors Association. This reference tool is a complete digital collection of NECA’s performance standards for electrical construction and maintenance that can be used on most computers.

NEC 2014 -- Right Around the Corner

The deadline for submitting public comments on proposals to revise the National Electrical Code was Friday, November 4, 2011. All 19 Code-Making Panels met in January in Hilton  Head, SC to review the proposals.

NFPA 70E 2015 Review Is Upon Us

This summer brings several deadlines for the 2015 version of NPFA 70E. The deadline for submitting public input to revise NFPA 70E is June 22. The first draft meeting will take place in Denver. Task groups will meet between August 18-19, and the Technical Committee Meeting will be held from August 20- 24.

NFPA 70E 2012 Now Available for Purchase

The 2012 edition of NFPA 70E, the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace was recently published and is available for purchase through the National Fire Protection Association. It is the ninth edition of the standard since it was first published in 1979, and NECA was again well represented in the updating process.
