The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has developed a collection of ANSI-approved electrical installation workmanship standards and recommended practices. While the NEC has a general requirement that electrical conductors and equipment be installed in a workmanlike manner, the NEC never says how to accomplish that. That is the very purpose of the National Electrical Installation Standards project.
